Yes, the rain has been very heavy but not nearly as bad as the fearsome predictions of 50mile-an-hour winds - a savage nor'easter, the like of which hasn't been experienced in the last decade. It was certainly supposed to alter the face of Long Island. While some areas outside of New York City have suffered severe flooding, it has, thankfully, not been as devestating as was feared. One of the fallouts of this storm has been that Barbour which sells rain gear shut!
