So many of you have asked about the movie - well here's the latest.
I conducted a small auction last evening for The Point Foundation - it was simply a magnificent benefit - a fantastic New York, over-the-top affair held in what had been a bank on the Bowery in the late 1800's. The building itself is breathtaking with soaring ceilings, marble columns, delicately worked copper and iron railings, mosaic floors. At the time it was in operation the Bowery was home to some of the great American industrial barons, their mansions lined the wide boulevard - the Astors, the Vanderbilts and the like. They probably kept their wealth in this bank in the massive steel safes which are still in place. I've seen a lot of glorious buildings in New York, but this venue has to be one of the best.
