Well I can now take over my own blog but I am so grateful to Joe, Greg and Joan for stepping up to the plate and keeping those who were interested informed.
Actually, I was quite shocked to learn how many were actually interested and accessed my blog.
I came home three days ago, I was originally going to spend the nights with a friend, I didn't think I wanted to be alone. But Craig brought me home and I slowly, slowly climbed my stairs and as soon as I was in my apartment, I was so, so happy to be home that I decided to stay here.
Over the last few days, I've been out on errands and had people come to visit. I'm feeling a little frail but really alright, I was told it would take between 6-8 weeks to feel secure. Last night I celebrated my 35th anniversary at Lenox Hill which was the very first meeting I attended.
Now, in New York we're all bracing for the coming hurricane - Irene. I can't help feeling that the mayor and the governor are being somewhat hysterical. The entire subway system is shutting down tomorrow at noon and everyone is hunkering down like we're going to be in a war zone. Hospitals are being completely evacuated, I'm just so happy I'm home because NYU where I was, is one of those hospitals.
Dire weather has been predicted in the past only to experience a downpour, nothing on the scale of a hurricane. Already it's been downgraded and it hasn't even hit North Carolina yet. But I don't want to be so skeptical and then I'm blown away on the street!
